Return to a time when artisanal, collectable and ethical were not options, they just were.
This is what comfort felt like before everything became fast.
These pieces honour a time when the world moved slower, and everything you touched had soul.
Our Promise to You

HELPING YOU CULTIVATE A HANDMADE LIFE
These pieces aren’t just made, they’re handed down. Through wisdom. Through craft. Woven in small villages in the mountains of Türkiye, these towels, scarves and throws carry the lineage of generations of Turkish artisans who understand that true value lives in what’s passed from one hand to another. By choosing handmade, you’re not just supporting a maker, you’re participating in a slower, more human way of living. Each piece is made from the earth and will return to the earth soon after it’s no longer needed.
-
WE DON'T COMPROMISE ON QUALITY
We don’t settle, and neither should you. Every towel, scarf, and robe are hand selected from the finest work of artisan weavers, not mass produced off a line. If it doesn’t meet our founder’s impossibly high standards, it doesn’t make it into the collection, no matter how sellable it might be (trust us, she can smell bs a mile away). Quality isn’t negotiable here. It’s the baseline.

FROM SOIL TO SKIN
We believe that the materials grown from the earth, like cotton and linen, are more than enough. Unlike synthetic fibres that linger for decades, natural fibres return to the earth in a matter of weeks. They’re breathable, compostable, and comforting to your skin. This is where true sustainability lives: in choosing less, choosing better, and choosing what lasts in all the right ways.

PRODUCT HIGHLIGHT
Swaddle Blankets
Woven in four layers of whisper-soft pure cotton muslin, our adult-sized swaddle blankets are designed to bring comfort in every season and cycle. Featherlight and breathable, they offer the ideal alternative to synthetic bedding — perfect for hot sleepers, hormonal shifts, or the hazy warmth of a summer night.
Beloved by mothers, these blankets double as a gentle support layer during pregnancy, postpartum, and PMS. Whether you’re curling up after a long day, cuddling your little one, or craving comfort without bulk — the swaddle blanket meets you there.
Why you’ll love them:
- Compact Combed Cotton: Stronger, smoother, and softer — thanks to a refined spinning process that removes short fibres and impurities.
- Quadruple Layers: Ultra-thin muslin stacked fourfold with delicate quilting-style stitching for breathability and coziness without heaviness.
- Multi-season Use: Light enough for summer, comforting enough for winter layering.
- Compact & Conscious: Easy to pack, travel with, or fold into small spaces. Made from 100% cotton that returns to the earth.
You won’t just sleep better; you’ll wonder how you ever slept without it. Promise.
Our Story
The Ministry of Comfort was born in a mountain village in Türkiye, in the curve of a tea glass and the rhythm of a loom.
What began with a sabbatical unfolded into an eight-year love affair with slowness: slowness that was preserved by ancient villages, sun-warmed stone houses and ancient dialects.Â
The MOC began at that moment when our founder, Maaika, sat cross-legged beside master weavers whose fingers moved with memory. It began with the magic of earth-woven fibres that softened over time and never forgot where they came from.
The Ministry of Comfort was never about products. It was about protecting a lineage. About making sure the towels, throws and robes once crafted for village weddings and dowries didn’t disappear into the archives of forgotten crafts. It was about preserving skills so refined, they bordered on the sacred. Skills that belong to 70-year-old loom masters with no website, no rush, and no intention of compromising tradition for trend.
We work only with those who preserve these ancient crafts. Who still believe quality is not a selling point, but a given. Who still weave by counting threads, not profits. And we name every piece within our collection with reverence: after goddesses and rivers, lost lands, buried mosaics, people and dogs, and teachers who have led us to this space. Because these are not just things. They are heirlooms. Soil to skin. Story to thread.
This is the handmade life.
One towel, one throw, one touch at a time.
Our Values
We are custodians of craft, not just curators of comfort.
Every piece we offer has been touched by real hands and time-honoured tradition. We don’t chase trends, and we don’t cut corners. From the weavers we partner with to the fibers we choose, integrity guides every decision. If it’s not ethically made, traceable, and of heirloom quality, it doesn’t make it through our doors.
We believe in fewer, finer things — and in a world where your comfort doesn’t come at the cost of someone else’s.

Where it Began -
The Ministry of Comfort was born under Turkish skies, between the stone villages and olive groves, in a space that held me as much as I held it.
What began as a love affair with textiles slowly became something far deeper.
For eight years I lived in Türkiye, walking ancient markets, sipping bitter çay with artisans, and learning the language of the loom. I saw the way these pieces were made - not manufactured, but remembered.
Woven with story, with lineage, with hands calloused by devotion.
Our Mission
Our mission is to preserve the slow, sacred art of weaving, and to bring comfort back to the centre of your life.
We exist to honour the hands that weave, the homes that receive, and the planet that provides.
Through heirloom textiles rooted in tradition, we offer not just products, but towels and blankets that turn everyday functions into rituals of rest, beauty, and belonging.
A Word From Our Store
What began as an instinctive love for these textiles became something deeper: a devotion to the weavers, the villages, and the quiet magic of slow-made things. I didn’t start this brand because I needed more stuff — I started it because I craved meaning. The MoC gave me that.
The Ministry of Comfort isn’t just a business — it’s a love letter. To tradition. To simplicity. To the comfort we’re all secretly longing for.
Why Our Pieces Feel Different
These are not just towels. Or blankets. Or robes.
They are functional works of art: handcrafted for comfort, durability, and the deep satisfaction of choosing quality over convenience.
Every piece in our collection is:
-
Made From Earth-Grown Fibres
We use pure cotton and linen, never synthetic blends. These breathable, biodegradable fibres feel soft against your skin, regulate temperature naturally, and break down into the soil when their journey is done.
-
Woven, Not Mass-Produced
Many of our towels, blankets and scarves are loomed on traditional wooden looms by Turkish artisans who have spent decades refining their craft. This means every thread is intentional, every weave a testament to human hands.
-
Light, But Suprisingly Absorbent
Our flat-woven towels are ultra-thin and quick-drying, making them a dream for those who travel, swim, or crave simplicity. Don’t be fooled by their weight: they absorb beautifully and dry in a flash.
-
Multi-Use by Design
All of our towels are designed to live beyond the bathroom. Use them as scarves, summer blankets, travel wraps, or throws. Style them how you like - because comfort is a ritual, not a rule.
-
Gentle on Skin & Soul
No chemical coatings, no plasticky synthetics, no itchy fibres. Just softness that soothes the nervous system and complements even the most sensitive skin.
-
Easy to Care For
Machine washable. Durable. Meant to be loved, lived in, and passed on. These pieces get softer with every wash, ageing as gracefully as you do.
- BECAUSE, YOU DESERVE TO FEEL
NOURISHED
By earth-grown fibres and ancestral hands. Our pieces are crafted from cotton and linen that breathe with you, offering comfort that softens, supports, and returns to the soil when its story is complete.
HELD
In the gentle ritual of the everyday. Whether wrapped in a robe, curled beneath a blanket, or drying off with a sun-softened towel, each piece offers a quiet kind of devotion, reminding you that rest is a right, not a reward.
CONNECTED
To something older, deeper, and beautifully real. These threads carry the legacy of Turkish weavers and their sacred craft, plus the stories of ancient lands and the gods and goddesses that roamed upon them.
