Product Care
Towels
Much like the finest things in life, your towel will only get better with time. After each wash, you’ll feel the luxurious fabric evolve on your skin, becoming softer and shedding less lint, while also offering improved grip and absorbency. By the tenth wash, it will have transformed into an indispensable companion, providing unparalleled comfort and performance that turns the simple task of drying yourself into something to look forward to.
Before first use
To accelerate the breaking-in phase of your new towel, an initial 24hr soak in cold water is recommended. After soaking, machine wash the towel along with your other laundry and allow it to air dry. This process helps the towel fibres relax, expand, and bloom, resulting in towels that are more absorbent, faster to dry, and delightfully fluffy. This method is suitable for 100% cotton towels only, as linen towels may shrink in cold water.
General Towel Care
- Washing Temperature: Machine wash towels on a gentle cycle at 30 - 40°C to preserve their longevity.
- Avoid Hardware: Keep towels away from garments with zippers or hooks during washing to prevent snags.
- No Fabric Softener: Skip the fabric softener, as it will coat the fibres and reduce the towel's absorbency.
- Drying Tips: Air drying is ideal, but if necessary, tumble dry on a low setting to protect the fabric.
- Group Washing: Avoid washing towels alone in an empty machine—tassels benefit from the company of other items.
- Colour Separation: Always wash whites, darks, and bold colours separately to prevent colour bleeding and maintain vibrancy.
Blankets
To preserve the longevity of your blanket, follow these care instructions:
- Wash before first use to remove any residual loom lint.
- Machine wash at 30 - 40 °C on a gentle cycle to prevent stretching.
- Keep zippers & other abrasive items out of the wash to avoid snags.
- Skip the fabric softener, as it will coat the fibres and reduce breathability.
- Air dry your blanket flat to maintain its shape and prevent stretching.
Scarves
Delicate as they may seem, the majority of our scarves can be washed like our towels, in the washing machine on a gentle cycle. If in doubt, you may follow the instructions for silk scarves.
Silk Scarves
- Gently hand wash in lukewarm water (warm but not hot) with mild detergent or baby shampoo
- Gently squeeze out excess moisture and air dry on a towel on a flat surface
Loose Threads
As our towels and blankets are intricately woven, snipping off minor loose threads or snags will not cause them to unravel.
Loose Tassels
Should a tassel come undone, it can easily be fixed as follows.
Separate the threads into two equal sections and twist each section in a clockwise direction.
Twist both sections together in a counter-clockwise direction.
Knot tightly at the end.
