50% linen 50% cotton, hand woven, 80 x 150cm

A scarf that feels like a sacred place. A thread-bound memory of mountains, mothers, and the stillness found in high places.

Inspired by a pilgrimage our founder took to the majestic Sumela Monastery in Türkiye, a site carved into the cliffside, cloaked in mist, and steeped in soul. This scarf was designed to wrap you in more than just warmth.

It offers presence, reverence, and a softness that carries a story with it.

The Sumela is created using a special loom technique that gives it a springy, stretchable texture, which is rare for cotton, and deeply comforting. Though it’s not intended for drying (its unique elasticity makes it less absorbent), Sumela is exceptional as a scarf, pareo, or shawl, draping effortlessly over shoulders and senses alike.

With its warm beige body and off-white stripes, the Sumela speaks in subtleties. Choose from Chartreuse, Navy, or Cream for your accent tone, and let it travel with you, soften with you, become part of your everyday act of remembering the ancient magic that lies at the heart of who you truly are.

    Product Care

The Sumela scarf, like all sacred things, asks to be treated with care.

    Care Instructions:

    • Washing Temperature: Machine wash scarves on a gentle cycle at 30°C to 40°C to preserve their longevity.
    • Avoid Hardware: Keep scarves away from garments with zippers or hooks during washing to prevent snags.
    • No Fabric Softener: Skip the fabric softener, as it coats the fibres and degrades them.
    • Drying Tips: Air drying is ideal, but if necessary, tumble dry on a low setting to protect the fabric.
    • Group Washing: Avoid washing robes alone in an empty machine - tassels benefit from the company of other items.

Colour Separation: Always wash whites, darks, and bold colours separately to prevent colour bleeding and maintain vibrancy.
